Teens can be a tough group to please. They’re not as easily impressed as younger kids, but they still need something exciting to engage their interests more than adults tend to do. So how do you make sure your teen has a great time in 30A? Besides the classic answer of hitting the beach, here are a few ideas of how to keep your teens interested during your vacation in 30A.
The Hub on 30A
The Hub is an outdoor venue that has plenty to offer teens. You can catch a movie under the stars or see a concert or live DJ. There are also plenty of shopping centers and delicious food for teens to enjoy. Let them lead the way at The Hub, giving them a sense of independence as well as excitement in this, well, hub of activity.
Take an E-Bike Tour
E-bikes are a rising trend, and teens can enjoy them as well as can adults. These are an eco-friendly way of getting around, as well as one that gives you the pleasure of riding a bike without the strain. Because it has an engine, you can pedal as much as you like and rely on the engine for the rest. In 30A, you can take e-bike tours highlighting a variety of attractions in 30A, from the delicious food to some of the historic buildings.
Try an Escape Room
Want an exciting activity for teens that also challenges their problem solving skills? An escape room could be the answer. It’s also a great way to bond with your teenager, or give them a chance to bond with their best friends. You can find Escape Zone 60 in Destin, Panama City Beach, and Miramar Beach. They offer a wide variety of settings, from apocalyptic to a standard “crime scene.”
Your teen is never too old to appreciate nature. Rent a couple kayaks and head out to the coastal dune lakes near Grayton Beach. These unique bodies of water have the variety of flora and fauna to keep your teens interested and may help them develop a connection for the outdoors. You can kayak back to the beach to mix up the scenery for the day.
At Baytowne Wharf, you can go shopping, catch a fireworks show on Tuesday, enjoy a free concert on Wednesdays during the summer, or take your teenage adrenaline junkie to the Baytowne Adventure Zone for something that challenges them, such as bungee jumping or ziplines.
Swim With the Dolphins
Dolphins may not be shown to be the most intelligent non-human mammal, but they are shown to have a delightful sense of humor. You can take a dolphin tour, watching the dolphins leap into the air for applause as the boat goes by. You can also travel just 45 minutes outside of Destin for an opportunity to swim with the dolphins, an experience your teens will remember well into adulthood.
