Headed to the beach this summer? There are several beautiful beaches along the highway 30A, from the popular Destin to Alys Beach with its excellent nearby shopping opportunities. But regardless of the beach you visit, you’ll want to be prepared with the right supplies for your beach trip. If you don’t pack all the right supplies, you may find yourself leaving dry and red. At the very least, these items will ensure that you have a great time at the beach no matter what.
A Light Bag
To start with, you’ll need a bag to put all of your beach items into. It should be something you can carry easily, but that’s big enough for everything you need. A large beach tote might do the trick, but if you don’t have that, a duffel bag or carry-on bag will be convenient enough to suit your purposes.
Sunscreen
This is your best friend for any day on a Florida beach. The sun can be intense, especially reflecting off the water and the soft, pale sand. It’s not enough to simply apply sunscreen before you head to the beach. You’ll need to pack a bottle with you and reapply to ensure that you don’t come home with a scorching sunburn. You may also want a hat and sunglasses for further protection.
Swimsuit and Coverup
Whether you’re planning to swim at the beach or not, you’ll probably want a swimsuit. Even if your goal is simply to tan by the shore, swimsuits will make for easier sand removal than your standard blouse and jeans. You’ll also want a coverup for when you’re not in the water — either a long t-shirt or a sundress.
Beach Towels
The sand can be quite hot, so it’s good to have a towel to lie out on during your day at the beach. And if you go swimming, of course, you’ll want to be able to dry off when you come out of the water. It might be a good idea, then, to bring a couple beach towels, just to be safe.
Water Bottle
This may seem silly. After all, you’re already headed to the beach, where there’s water. You can’t drink it, of course, but it does serve to cool you down. Still, it’s easy to become overheated or dehydrated at the beach. Having a water bottle will help ensure that you stay hydrated throughout the day.
Waterproof Phone Case
We’re pretty attached to our devices in this day and age. You’re sure to bring your phone with you to your beach trip, but you want to make sure that you leave with it functioning as well as it did when you arrived. For that, you may want to protect your phone with a waterproof phone case.
